PAULITE WEB - Poems By Tony Davies
Ashes To Ashes
|
Scatter my ashes beside the Chapel,
On the flowerbeds round Westcott's grave,
Let me rest amongst the roses there,
And sleep in this spiritual enclave.
There is no place I'd rather rest
Than this school that gave me so much,
With Kanchenjunga's mountain range
So near as to almost touch.
To lie here in this wondrous place,
My soul washed by the monsoon's rain,
My spirit to soar to uncharted heights,
Till called on to rise again.
Is this life but just a dream,
And death but a waking thought?
Is death the final reality,
Or the answer we have sought?
So scatter my ashes beside the Chapel,
On the flowerbeds round Westcott's grave,
When the struggle of life is over,
Let me rest in this spiritual enclave.
And if all this is not to be,
Then in remembrance plant a tree,
For that way I will always be
Somewhere in life's memory.
