Cub Camp At Ghoom
|
Remember those Cub camps we went to at Ghoom?
Sitting round the camp fire, surrounded by gloom,
Snuggled in bell tents, away from the cold,
Thinking how brave we were, feeling so bold.
We would face any danger, stand together as one,
Easy to be so brave, while outside the sun shone!
But with sunset comes darkness, with darkness comes fear
"Listen! That rustling!" It seems to draw near!
Soon, every strange noise was a wild beast outside!
Suddenly, not so brave, looking to hide!
Feeling quite small now, with nothing to prove
Wrapped in our blankets, not daring to move,
Lying there shivering, till morning brought light,
Strange, no mention now, of their fright in the night!
With daybreak comes sun, the air crisp and clear,
On mornings like this, no sign of our fear!
Of our fright in the night? Not a word is said,
For tonight we'll be back, tucked safely in bed!!
