PAULITE WEB - Poems By Tony Davies
Footsteps
|
Majestic peaks reach out to the sky,
The home of the Gods, locals believe.
White snow glistening in the morning sun,
You'll go home, but you'll never leave.
Lush valleys lie, resplendent in green,
Through their depths the rivers weave,
Feeding the plains on their way to the sea,
You'll go home, but you'll never leave.
Hill towns, beautiful in times gone by,
There is hope - but you have to believe
That their beauty will shine through once again,
You'll go home, but you'll never leave.
Mountain roads lying heavy with snow,
Ever onward they meander and weave,
Such wondrous beauty all around,
You'll go home, but you'll never leave.
To surround myself in cool mountain mists,
A yearning, a need to relieve,
To retrace footsteps long lost in time,
I've gone home, but I'll never leave!
