GHD - Going Home Day
|
At a table in Glenarys
Sits a schoolboy,
Who, reluctant, tarries,
His friends long gone,
He sits alone,
Reluctant, not sad,
For he's going home.
So he leaves
And pays his bill,
And makes the climb
Back up the hill,
It's Going Home Day
But he's still there,
Patience thin,
Beginning to wear.
The dorm. is quiet
Back at the school,
No-one to talk to,
Or play the fool,
Only teachers now,
And they're no fun,
For some the holiday
Has already begun.
The hours drag by,
But it won't be long
Till realisation --
In the words of our song,
Time has passed,
It's the end of a year -
"GHD is coming soon…… "
Soon? - Hell - it's already here !!
