PAULITE WEB - Poems By Tony Davies
Till February Comes
Mattresses stacked against the wall,
No noise now in Westcott Hall,
For the boys the holiday's just begun,
Heading home for three months fun,
Carefree days spent under the sun……
Till February comes.

When the snows come, as they will,
To lay a blanket across this hill,
And peace descends across the grounds,
Save for Chaprasi, doing his rounds,
Where once was noise, silence abounds …..
Till February comes.

Bears now frolic across Top Field,
With the boys gone, no need to yield.
The jackals too, can come and play,
Under the moon they'll sit and bay,
The animals, it seems, have it all their own way…
Till February comes.

The days, they pass along at length,
The old school slumbers and gathers strength,
Soon the snows will melt away,
The school, refreshed, awaits it's prey!
It's nine long months to Going Home Day!!….
When February comes!
