I have to admit, the original picture stumped me. I could not find where I took this picture from in the days after the tornado. So, I tried to get as close to the orginal picture as possible. After getting the pictures developed, I realized why I was stumped -- I was a block South of where I should have been. Talk about loss of a sense of direction. Apparently, this feeling is still felt by many who have returned to St. Peter after the tornado. Many major landmarks are missing. The Catholic church which was still standing after the tornado was to be salvaged with the help of many donor -- both of money and expertise. In June, however, straight line winds whipped thru St. Peter and took care of that project. The church is now missing. The building you see in the foreground of the second picture is the building you can barely see behind the church in the first picture. It is hard to tell in the picture, but the cross of the church sits on the rubble in front of the sidewalk. This church was over 100 years old!
